I'm interrupting my fabric week because a pretty cool thing happened this week. I've followed the Design*Sponge blog for years and I am a huge fan. I'm inspired by it in some way pretty much every day, from interior design inspiration to small business advice to the wide variety of interesting profiles of artists and makers. Recently they've been having some Instagram challenges highlighting different design elements in people's homes. There was one for rugs (#dsnicerug), mirrors (#dsmirrors), and art (#dsart), so I decided to take a few photos around the house add them to the various feeds. Then on Monday morning, Grace posted of some of her favorite examples of art at home from the #dsart feed (found here), and my photograph above was included! Yes, there may have been some screaming going on inside my head at the moment I scrolled down and spotted my photograph! It's always been a dream to one day be featured in one of their sneak peaks, so this was pretty cool.
Speaking of home, there has been a lot of purging, reorganizing, and rearranging around these parts lately, and everything is still in a bit of disarray. The spare bedroom has been my art room/studio space/office, and it's going to transition into more of a guest room/office, and I'm creating a large studio space in the basement. Still lots of work to do (and vintage shops and flea markets to visit), but I'm getting closer and closer. The thing I love most about decorating a home is that the work is never done. It's always changing and evolving, and I'm excited to be making progress and changes.
Here are a couple more shots from around the house that I posted in the art and rug feed.
