So the last installment for this week's theme (my grandma's fabric) is a bit odd, I'll admit. But when I discovered a few days ago that this week's lesson for the Lisa Congdon line drawing class on Creative Bug involved drawing on photographs, I realized I could actually add my other grandma into the week. It was almost like I planned it (I wish I could say I did -- I'd look rather smart!).
Lisa Congdon does an amazing job of adding geometric patterns and designs to vintage photographs, either on people's clothing or in the background, depending on what suits the particular photograph. I knew I had a copy of this photograph of my grandma in a white dress, and I thought it would be perfect for adding some embellishment and pattern to the fabric. Although it's completely make-believe fabric, I'm glad I was able to include my other grandma through this bit of chance. Hey, it's all about being creative, right?
