One the main reasons that I wanted to paint in the square format for my current daily painting project, The 6x6 Project, was because I thought it would be fun to essentially have a bunch of square tiles that could be grouped together to form a larger collage or pattern. I'm only a little over a week into this project, but it's fun to already notice patterns or color palettes flow across days and see things play off each other when placed side by side.
Here are a few paintings from the past week that I made into diptychs. This is turning out to be a fairly time consuming "side project", but it's things like this that make me excited about the potential and motivate me to keep working to see where it leads.
I'm posting the individual paintings daily over on Instagram. You can follow along here.
